this virtual tour plan is connected with teaching the social studies standard 1, objective 3, part a for 4th graders. It states that student should be able to "Describe how and why humans have changed the physical environment of Utah to meet their needs (e.g. reservoirs, irrigation, climate, transportation systems and cities)." (found on website http://www.uen.org/cc/uen/core/pub/displayCoreCourse.action?ccId=6040)
ReplyDeleteI chose to do a virtual tour on this topic, because I thought that it would be an effective way to incorporate google earth with geography.
ReplyDeleteGoogle Earth can be a way for children to get a better idea of the geography around where they live. Also, they are able to see the location of places, as well as see real pictures of the locations. I think that they can really benefit from that.
